NERVE ENDING - MEN'S HOODIE
For years Tool has reveled at the opportunity to not only stretch the boundaries of music, but of common decency as well, continuously challenging social morays long held sacred by the public.
Comprised of Danny Carey, Justin Chancellor, Adam Jones, and the omnipresent Maynard James Keenan, Tool crafted their hardened progressive rock sound while in Los Angeles, where they were signed by local independent record label Zoo Entertainment in 1992.
Keenan and company gained notoriety for their debut EP Opiate, whose accompanying music video “Hush” found each of the four band members dawning Parental Advisory signs over their genitals and gagged by duct tape, which was meant as a protest to censorship.
This intersection of visual art and music would persist throughout their career.
Tool’s best known songs include “Sober”, “The Pot”, and “Stinkfist” from their 1997 Grammy-nominated album AEnema.
