About The Ramones
There would be no Punk music if it weren’t for the Ramones; it’s as simple as that.
Founded in 1974, Tommy, Dee Dee, Johnny, and Joey Ramone got their start playing for modest crowds at the legendary CBGB in Manhattan, New York where they honed the vicious two chord assault that would ultimately inspire an entire generation of musicians.
The Ramones released their heralded self-titled debut in 1976 and with instant classics such as “Beat on the Brat”, “53rd and 3rd”, and the irresistible “Blitzkrieg Bop”, propelled themselves into the upper echelon of musical innovators and helped cement their status as Rock immortals.
The following year Joey and company offered up yet another audiophile essential in Rocket to Russia, whose brilliant reimagining of Bobby Freeman’s beloved “Do You Wanna Dance? “ remains a fond memory for those raised on a steady diet of Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.
