SILHOUETTE - MEN'S T-SHIRT
About The Cure
Leather clad and mascara smeared Goth kids everywhere have Robert Smith of the Cure to thank for their alienating fashion sense.
Hailing from the dreary coastal town of Crawley, England, Smith and company were discovered early on by an obscure German record label, whose annual talent competition they had won.
However, record executives quickly terminated the contract after several attempts to mold the Cure into a commercial Pop band proved disastrous.
The Cure later signed with Polydor Records whose subsidiary label Fiction went on to produce their first album Three Imaginary Boys.
It wasn’t until 1982 and forth studio album Pornography that Smith began to embrace the dark meditative trance of Gothic Rock.
Propelled by the infectious hit single “Love Song”, heartbreaking “Pictures of You”, and brilliant “Fascination Street”, Disintegration became the Cure’s most successful album to date, and ironically positioned them as radio staples for years to come.
