Music critics often recklessly throw out the "Next Beatles" designation for any British act attempting to conquer the United States, but few bands have lived up to the hype quite like Radiohead has.
Comprised of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Colin Greenwood, and Phil Selway, Radiohead burst onto the Alternative music scene in 1993 with their debut single "Creep".
Radiohead followed the success of Pablo Honey with their well-received sophomore effort The Bends, whose accompanying song "Fake Plastic Trees" found its way into the mainstream via Clueless.
However, it was their third album OK Computer that would come to define the decade as well as secure their legacy for innovation.
Set in a bleak dystopian future where logic and order reign supreme, OK Computer conveyed complex themes of mass consumerism, political corruption, and modern disillusionment in a manner that spoke directly to audiences both young and old.
Yorke and company have since gone on to release five additional albums, and continue to push the boundaries of music, while quietly redefining the very nature of business and distribution.
