About Ozzy Osbourne
You know you have some problems when three other habitual drug users decide to hold an intervention in your honor, but such was the case with the perpetually inebriated Ozzy Osbourne, who was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979.
Not one to let something as trivial as alcohol and substance abuse get in the way of a burgeoning solo career, Osbourne took to the studio to record Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, and Bark at the Moon in the span of three years.
Osborne lived and breathed every word of Randy Rhoads’ guitar riff laden “Crazy Train”, when the gloriously inappropriate frontman mistook a living bat for a stage prop and bit its head off during a 1982 concert performance.
That same year Osbourne furthered his legend with yet another depraved act that involved the public desecration of a monument at the Alamo, earning him a decade long ban from the city of San Antonio.
