About Ministry

Ministry is an Industrial Metal band fronted by Cuban-American musician Al Jourgensen, who hails from Chicago, Illinois.

Jourgensen formed the band in 1981 under the banner of New Wave and Synth Pop, which at the time were the dominant styles of music.

Ministry eventually transitioned to the harder more aggressive sound they’re known for with the release of the Jourgensen masterminded Twitch, but it was their fifth studio album Psalm 69: The Way to Succeed and the Way to Suck Eggs and accompanying singles “N.W.O.” and “Jesus Built My Hotrod” that initially caught the attention of mainstream audiences. In 2008 Jourgensen called it quits and with it ended Ministry’s 27 year reign.
