About Marilyn Manson

Prior to his becoming the poster child for latent hostility and public enemy number one to a host of irrational PTA moms and dads across the country, Marilyn Manson was Brian Hugh Warner, an awkward community college student working towards a degree in Journalism.

Not exactly what one would call an appropriate beginning for the single most divisive and controversial music figures of the past several decades.

Originally known as Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids, he and his fellow band members gained notoriety with their intentionally shocking performance art driven live spectacles.

Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor caught wind of their exploits and offered Manson a contract with his newly minted Nothing Records.

In 1996 Manson and company released the Reznor produced Antichrist Superstar, whose pulverizing first single “The Beautiful People” not only received nearly universal praise from critics, but further fueled the ire of “concerned parents” everywhere.
