About Dimmu Borgir
Heavy Metal is often condemned as a supposed “Tool of the Devil” by PTA moms and religious zealots alike, but in the case of the overtly Satanic Norwegian Death Metal ensemble Dimmu Borgir, they take it as a compliment.
Comprised of the ominously named Shagrath, Galder, and Silenoz, Dimmu Borgir released their most commercially successful album Death Cult Armageddon in 2003, which debuted at 169 on the Billboard charts.
In 2007 Dimmu Borgir continued their penchant for sacrilegious imagery with the creation of their first concept album In Sorte Diaboli, a fictional account of a previously devoted religious follower’s fall from grace.
Influenced by: Dio, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath
