About Queen
Unless you were raised by wolves or lived in a 60’s era fallout shelter for most of your upbringing, then chances are you’ve heard of Queen and even memorized all the words to “Bohemian Rhapsody” from their immortal 1975 album A Night at the Opera, which if nothing else is a testament to the greatness of Freddie Mercury.
The high falsettoed and flamboyantly gay Rock frontman was exposed to a steady diet of Bollywood and Liza Minnelli (who he later credited for his vibrant and theatrical stage presence), before meeting Brian May and Roger Taylor in 1970.
Together the British trio released 13 albums during Mercury’s tenure with the band and sold over 200 million records worldwide.
Tragically, Mercury contracted AIDS in 1987 and died four years later, but his enduring legacy lives on in such beloved Queen classics as “Killer Queen”, “Bicycle Race”, and “Another One Bites the Dust”.
